Tokyo Olympics 2020 trip

Today Paterson class went on a trip to Tokyo Olympics. When we arrived ther was an Olympic competitor named Debbie Tanner she told us what it was like to do a triathlon and join the olympics. After that we had 2 activitys we could do the game zone and the skill zone. Another school named Anchorage Park School were exploring too. We took turns on the skills zone and the game zone so every 5 mins we would swap over.

I enjoyed watching watching the Olympics rowing challenge in the fan zone. I learnt the 3 values when competing in and olympics. The 3 values are friendship, respect and excellence. What I found challenging was the jump power in the skills zone they were 6 cones and 2 teams one team infront and one team in the back if you jump near the first cone you get 1 point but if you jump near the middle cone you get 3 points and lastly if you jump near the last cone then you get 10 points. End of term reflection

Our first session

Buenos dias bloggers,

Today Paterson class have done their first session on bike riding! I learnt balancing on a bike

and I also learnt to check my helmet before I ride my bike if your helmet has a crack it is not safe but if I doesn't then you're good to go. 

I didn't know exactly how to ride a bike so what I found challenging was the amount of time I  fell off my bike. I enjoyed riding with the pedals on my bike. I am feeling pretty confident because I think I'll get used to riding a bike by the time our coaches Loni and Jason come back. Here is a photo and video of us bike riding:

The Wonder Project

In the senior school we have been learning about rocket designs and Newton's law of Motion and how to keep safe when launching. Here are some safety rules that before you launch:

• Aim your rocket away from people, animals and buildings..
• Wear a high vis-vest and safety goggles.
• Don't launch your rocket if it is windy or raining. Here is a video of my group launching

It was very fun learning all about rockets. I also learned teamwork during the lessons. If I had a choice to learn about rockets again I would accept because I experienced it already so when I finish learning about rockets again then I would be an astronaut when I grow up. Bye bloggers! 👋👋👋👋👋

Waka description

Today I will be sharing my waka writing description with you. 

Paterson class learnt about Wayfinding Navigation and built their very own waka.

My waka hourua has some very important features for it to sail. It has  V- shaped hulls and a hut for the crew members. My waka also has strong sails for sailing so the crew members don’t get stranded in the sea. My waka is really big to fit everyone inside. My job on the waka is being a cook. I make food for all the members on the waka so they don’t starve.

Here is my waka that I made on tinkercad:

I know it does not look perfect but it has everything a waka needs. Real wakas aren’t colourful, they are made from totara  wood so it’s brown. I really hoped you liked my writing. Bye bloggers 👋👋👋👋👋👋👋.

Wayfinding Navigation

Today I will be teaching you an amazing millennial knowledge of our Polynesian ancestors. In the olden days Polynesian people never had a GPS to use while there were sailing. They used the sun, moon wind, stars, waves and sea creatures they also memorised all the important stars names.  

Here is a picture of a Polynesian navigating with the stars:

Sometimes they even observe the sun and the moon rising position and setting position.

In Paterson class our main topic is Wayfinding Navigation. I enjoyed going on a site to

perform how to navigate with the stars. What I found challenging was the amount of books I 

had to read. 

You can recognise Matariki by looking a bit closer to the sunrise is the best view to see Matariki. Now it's you turn you have a go looking outside at sunrise. I tried but didn't manage to find it maybe you can find it. Bye bloggers 👋👋👋👋👋👋👋👋👋.

Toolkits!

Kia ora bloggers,Today was toolkits they hosted it and Owairaka district school. It was very confusing they were 3 sessions in different classes also I was presenter with my partner Salote M. We both presented How to create a pick a path slides I was very nervous I'm sure Salote felt the same we helped out. And people shared the pick a paths they made I have to admit they were pretty good. We also got to see other peoples toolkit! Here are some photos that the teachers took:

Unfortunately there is no room for more pictures. I enjoyed working with a friend on the sessions. What I found challenging was when I had to make a minecraft house.
